In a move that may reshape the global casino industry, Macau’s leading casinos have officially launched support for digital yuan (e-CNY) payments at all licensed gaming venues.
Players can now use China’s digital currency for both deposits and withdrawals, improving transaction speed and compliance. The Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau says this will help combat money laundering and enhance regulatory oversight.
Casino executives say cashless payments will likely expand to foreign e-wallets and digital currencies in the near future.
